Asko Art and his studio

Asko Art and his new studio.

Take a step back so you can walk further. Its funny how that is exactly what I have been doing with my life when it comes of having a studio.

When I started with making art on canvas I had my bedroom as my “studio” and it was so small.. I couldn’t even turn around properly.

A year later We moved to another house with a garage. amazing to have something to work and being able to walk around inside your studio.

It was still a little bit too small but I didn’t know better so I was very happy with it. Till I moved to poland and having a BIG studio. It was so BIG I didn’t even know how to use all the space..

Studio In Poland

One year later I moved back to the Netherlands I said goodbye to Poland and It was sure I was going to miss that place.. back to the shed in the Netherlands. I can’t even describe how it felt from having a HUGE studio going back to my old garage that felt like my previous bedroom studio.

But what I said before, you need to take a step back, so you can walk further.

In the beginning of 2022 I created a list with all the things I wanna do and accomplish before 2023 starts.

Finding a new studio was one of the things. Time was running out for me.. but luckily, 2 weeks before the end of 2022 I found a studio.

Funny story actually, it’s inside my old school where I was learning economics. not really learning, I was more drawing in my books than making notes, but at that time I thought it was the smartest thing to do.

Teachers telling me my life will be a failure if I continue drawing in my books etc.. but now I am the one who is laughing.

Because it was a school there are a lot of rooms that are now empty. Artist in the area have the possibility to rent a classroom.

I am so happy I found this place because now my studio is two times bigger than my studio in Poland.
